I’ve suffered from perfectionism throughout my life. It’s been mostly negative. I’ve learned to embrace imperfections. Setting perfection as a theoretical bound and not more, could be a good thing but should be aware of many of its sharp edges.
With infinite time everything will be perfect
Everyone is capable of producing perfection if given infinite time. Now because infinite is unattainable theoretical concept therefore perfection is the same too.
A mindful approach is imagining what a perfect solution or product is and then start putting time limits on what can be achieved in 5 years, 1 year, 1 month or even 1 day. This approach prunes and weeds out many unnecessary requirements and will expose a handful of essentials. The essentials are in the base of the hierarchy of needs / Pareto distribution / 80%-20% rule. This is how to start building.
